This Is What Authoritarianism Looks Like
Trump is hellbent on deporting Americans unlawfully
Yesterday played out exactly as we unfortunately predicted.
Donald Trump stood on the White House lawn with Nayib Bukele, Salvadoran authoritarian who brags about turning his country’s prisons into torture chambers, and together, they previewed the future they want for America.
This wasn’t a diplomatic visit. It was a blueprint for dictatorship.
Here’s what happened:
Trump used the visit to escalate his push to deport not just immigrants—but American citizens.
He asked Bukele to build five more prisons—not for Salvadorans, but for so-called “homegrowns.” That’s what he called American citizens he wants to exile.
Bukele, playing the part, has already accepted hundreds of people into El Salvador’s notorious CECOT prison. Many were deported from the U.S. without trials, without charges—based on tattoos, clothing, or vague claims of gang ties.
Now, Team Trump is openly gaming out how to denaturalize U.S. citizens and deport them to these facilities.
This is not a hypothetical. According to Rolling Stone, Trump’s top advisors, like Stephen Miller and Mike Davis, are pushing for mass denaturalization campaigns. They want to revoke the citizenship of activists, immigrants, and people who don’t align with their ideology. They’ve even discussed reviving sections of the Alien Enemies Act from 1798, the same law used to imprison Japanese Americans during WWII.
Trump’s DOJ is already in open defiance of a 9–0 Supreme Court ruling demanding the return of Kilmar Abrego García, a Maryland father who was wrongly deported. Trump’s response? Delay, distort, distract—and let him rot in a foreign prison.
This is authoritarianism with a smile for the cameras. This is fascism rolled out in real-time.
The media won’t say it, but we will: Trump is normalizing a plan to criminalize protest, strip citizenship, and export dissidents. And he’s using the presidency as a stage to test how far he can go.
This isn’t about policy. It’s about power. And cruelty. And erasure.
The only thing standing in the way of this machine is us.
But we can’t do it alone.
