They're Hiding It.
The Trump administration keeps canceling economic reports for one reason and it’s not good news.
Something is deeply wrong with the U.S. economy, and for once, you do not have to speculate. You can follow the paper trail. Or more accurately, the missing paper trail.
I am not a conspiracy theorist. Anyone who watches this channel knows that. But what is happening right now is not speculation. It is verifiable. Month after month, the Trump administration has quietly stopped releasing the very data Americans rely on to understand how the economy is actually doing.
First, the inflation report disappears.
Then, the jobs report.
Now, the GDP report.
That is not normal. That is not routine. And it is not accidental.
Republican administrations love to talk about transparency and markets. But markets cannot function when the data is hidden. Small businesses cannot plan. Families cannot budget. Investors cannot make informed decisions. And voters cannot hold anyone accountable.
What we are watching is the deliberate construction of a dual economy.
There is one economy for the top ten percent. Arguably the top one percent. An economy where stock portfolios are protected, crypto schemes are rewarded, and billionaires get policy written specifically for them.
Then there is the economy the rest of us live in.
The economy where groceries keep getting more expensive.
Where rent climbs faster than wages.
Where people actually notice inflation because they have to shop at Walmart, Costco, or Target every single week.
My colleague Micah Erfan puts it perfectly. Trump ran as a populist. He governs like an oligarch.
Since Trump returned to office, unemployment is up. Inflation is up. The deficit is up. At the same time, ACA subsidies are being allowed to expire, Social Security is under attack, and the safety net is being quietly sawed out from under the most vulnerable Americans.
And now, instead of owning those results, the administration is choosing a different strategy. Hide the evidence.
On November 24, the Bureau of Economic Analysis canceled the release of the third quarter GDP growth estimate. That report had already been delayed once. The official excuse was the government shutdown. But that explanation falls apart instantly.
The October jobs report was never released.
The October inflation report was never released.
Several of these cancellations happened before the shutdown even occurred.
That is not coincidence. That is a pattern.
Despite what Trump says at rallies, Americans feel the economy every time they open their wallets. That is why so many people immediately clocked what was happening online. Cancel the jobs report. Cancel inflation. Cancel GDP. Everything must be going great, right?
When governments stop publishing data, it is almost always because the data is bad.
This administration wants Americans flying blind. And that hurts everyone except the people already insulated by wealth.
Look at who is thriving in Trump’s economy.
Foreign oligarchs.
Crypto speculators who donate tens of millions.
People who get investigations dropped after writing checks.
Meanwhile, the average American is told affordability is a “con job” and to stop believing their own bank account.
This is what authoritarian governance looks like in practice. You either lie about reality, hide the numbers, or punish anyone who talks about it. That is why comedians get threatened. Professors get fired. Dissent gets labeled unpatriotic.
You cannot fix an economy you are not allowed to see.
And you cannot call yourself pro business or pro worker while canceling the very reports that make informed decisions possible.
They are hiding it because they do not want you to know how bad it really is.
If you want daily, unfiltered reporting that cuts through this nonsense and exposes who this administration is actually governing for, consider subscribing, or even becoming a paid subscriber if you can go the extra mile.

It’s beyond disturbing. We know there is a separate system for the 1% because none of them are squawking about not seeing these reports. They know. They find more ways to squeeze us this way.
Tariffs have been a payday for corporations. Raise prices because greed, blame tariffs. Write off tariffs. Easy.
I’m sick of this bullshit. I’m battling brain cancer with no insurance. No insurance because my husband was laid off by a big tech company 8 months ago after 13 years of outstanding work and performance awards. The moved his job, and his team’s jobs, to India. Unemployment covers the mortgage and bills,
Nothing left for the $2400 per month insurance policy that I need to see my specialists. And now that will double or triple. Tens of thousands laid off in the Pacific Northwest in tech, no jobs, companies too terrified to breathe under this regime. I can’t get disability benefits even though I worked 30+ years and faithfully paid my taxes. We’d have to be indignant to qualify. It’s unreal my life is based upon my spouses old income and our resources that are tied up. We may have to sell our home and move to another state for him to work. I’ll lose my incredible medical team. However, as it stands, specialists won’t even see uninsured patients even if we offer to pay in advance.
So, do we lose our investments for retirement that is supposed to be in just a couple years, or do I just die? This is not the Golden Age of America. It’s the wealthiest’s Golden Egg of America. I’m sure the goal is to kill the rest of us off anyways.
We are headed towards a very deep and serious recession. Tighten your belts everybody. Cut expenses and watch your money. There's lock to you Beck. You should never have to go through this. These hateful goddamn republicans.
