Last night, Donald Trump tried it again. And just like before, it completely backfired. The moment he stepped up to the podium to claim that the 2020 election was stolen, it blew up in his face because he still has absolutely zero evidence.

I have spent my formative years watching a former president try to undermine our democracy, tear down our institutions, and spread the most vicious, vitriolic lies about an election he lost. We are living in a political environment where every single time a specific group loses an election, they claim it was rigged, weaken our democratic systems, and present zero proof.

I am completely exhausted from watching this happen. Last night, Donald Trump gave a national address to all Americans and spent the time trying to relitigate an election from six years ago.

The person who best summarized the sheer distaste of this spectacle was Senator John Ossoff. He said it perfectly in a clip that is currently going viral online.

Senator Ossoff has done a brilliant job holding the line against these election fraud lies, bringing a level of accountability that many other politicians haven’t been able to deliver over the past few years.

There is no more time for minced words or soft pushback. This is the moment where we must stand firm and fight back with our fiercest efforts. The facts are clear: Donald Trump has lost every single court case regarding election fraud. Even the people closest to him in his own administration have stated on the record that there is no evidence of widespread fraud.

Frankly, I trust Mike Pence, Chris Christie, and Bill Barr on this. I trust the level-headed Republicans who are consistently pushing back against these falsehoods to protect our systems. Donald Trump is simply using his ego to shield himself from the reality that he lost.
