But this is only the start, not the end. The push needs to be kept up. Vote to vacate the Speaker next?

How about voting to get the files NOW before the Bondi and Patel team is finished removing every republican name in it and replacing their names with any Democrat they can think of.

Ridiculous after all this time they have had to change the file names or block out every place it mentions trump that they now need an additional 30 days to release the files.

I truly hope that there is a backup copy somewhere so the changes they made can be pointed out very quickly.

I thought the vote no was the republican rep from Louisiana 🤷‍♀️

Karen - you are so correct. Maga Mike voted for the bill, not because he favored it, but procedurally he expected Thune to amend it and send it back to the house. Mike was shocked and not amused when Thune went along with Schumer's motion of unanimous consent. Lots of cogs in this interesting wheel. Am waiting to see what Trump does next. He hasn't many good options.

That was the House vote not the senate vote that also happened yesterday..Clay Higgins from Louisiana was the only no vote from the House reps.

The article said the lone no vote was the speaker not Higgins

I'm old enough to have been your babysitter, Joseph, and I too support Adam and his associates who are fearless and figuring things out as they challenge the highest level of corruption and ill will in our government that I've ever seen in my lifetime. They give me hope for America's future, the future so many of my loved ones will live in.

The Republicans do not vote for something unless Trump tells them to.They did it through out Bidens term as well.I pay attention to every vote for yrs on CSPAN..Guys something is not right.Do we honestly think all of them had a change of heart since the last time I heard them all vote against the Eipstein Files over and over. And why is NOONE mentioning that in the end this vote goes in front of Trump?I pray I don't have to say ,I told you so...something is up,nothing with them is this easy and if we haven't learned by now,we never will...

There will be a halo sticker over Trump every time the name is mentioned, if it's even there at all. They've had plenty of time to scrub away what they don't want seen.

Louisiana Rep Clay Higgins was the lone nay vote, not Johnson, also from Louisiana.

I'm certain someone has something on Mike Johnson. His political behavior defies anything resembling normal. I mean come on! There's got to be more to this story of his son monitoring his porn consumption. And someone knows that story. And I can't believe it's anything less than damning.

BUFFY I keep waiting for that other shoe to fall on Johnson myself. That guy is so slimy he reminds me of those big snakes running around Florida. Someone is going to come forward about him and republicans will have another speaker to make excuses for.

Why should’ve anyone listened to Mike? He refused to comprehend on the health care issue. I hope he likes his medicine. We’re not done yet with the Republican/ Trump games.

The empire is collapsing. Stay tuned for wealthy people to leave the country.

I’m very happy for the survivors.

The wealthy have already parked their money outside the country (Dollar has been falling.), so they will just follow it rather than pay taxes that might support the commonweal.

❄️🇺🇸 “The ICE That Chilled the Town”

In a neighborhood warm where the children would play,

Where the clergy gave blessings at dawn every day,

A cold wind arrived with a growl and a glare—

Not weather at all, but an agency’s scare.

ICE stomped through the streets with a rumble and crack,

With uniforms stiff and no kindness to back.

They barged into kitchens, they shouted at doors,

They frightened whole families on well-swept floors.

They questioned the citizens born on this land,

They scolded the workers with tools in their hands.

They cornered the clergy who comforted fear,

They chilled every heartbeat that dared to come near.

They marched into churches with boots on the ground,

Where sermons of peace were the softest of sounds.

They treated the helpers like foes in a fight—

Turning houses of healing to places of fright.

But the grandmas and grandpas rose tall from their chairs,

They linked up their arms on the fresh morning air.

Communities whispered, “We stand side by side—

We protect one another, we won’t run or hide.”

They shielded the children, they guarded the frail,

They documented stories in each fearful tale.

They passed out warm meals, they held steady hands,

They built little sanctuaries across many lands.

And soon came a truth that the ICE could not keep:

Love grows its strongest where cruelty creeps.

A neighbor’s compassion, a clergy’s firm stand—

Together they formed an unbreakable band.

So remember this lesson whenever winds bite:

The people unite when the darkness grows night.

For justice stays shining, no matter who schemes—

A candle of courage

that out-glows their extremes.
