I live in Washington State, where we receive our ballots by U.S. mail, fill them out, and either mail them back (postage already paid), or drop them in a secure neighborhood drop box on or before election day. We don't have the same polling place issues that need staff. BUT! In the past I've volunteered to be a drop box watcher on election night to make sure there are no shenanigans. There have been threats of armed people showing up to intimidate voters.
We were warned to look for REAL mailbox & drop off box. There’s not an easily accessible one through all our roads in a grid & we have boomers, Hispanic and families with kids living around busy busy. They had the lawn signs 😒🤢 when they managed to find a box they just dropped it in & left. Some evil nasties MADE fake boxes & put them over the TOP of the real box that were the most used! Someone had seen one & reported it to the village and sent out a text to us all. watch out they look VERY real. But we knew we couldn’t find them all and they probably took them off. I’m CERTAIN they’d spot blue voters & trash the papers later. MAGA will do ANYTHING 😨 sorry that’s long
Great idea! I’ve worked at several elections where I live in Canada now. It brings you into the process in a different way that’s quite supportive. It’s an important part of being involved in a democracy.
I applaud this initiative and have worked as a poll worker in rural AZ for several years. Once you experience this training, it's easy to understand all the quality control that goes into this process. Much of the training is online, and I've always thought that since the training is available, it could easily be incorporated into the high school curriculum. Vote, vote, vote. Thanks Adam.
I signed up to be a poll worker (election officer) in Fairfax County, Virginia in March 2025. It is a looong day, but it is so rewarding & FUN!! AND you can get paid for the day! I highly recommend signing up. I haven’t felt nearly as hopeless (although our votes in VA not counting for the temporary redistricting was very hard to deal with) since doing the work! It makes one proud to see all Virginians flocking to vote. Make your voices heard!! Don't give up!! VOTE! Love to all 💙🗽💙🇺🇲💙
I have been a poll worker since I retired eleven years ago. Everyone should have the experience at least once, so they understand how hard clerks and poll workers work to maintain election integrity.
I just signed up to be a poll worker in my town
Proud to say I voted early in the primaries in my state despite the intentional closing 5 of the 12 early polling places. VOTE PEOPLE VOTE!

Done this for several elections now. It is very satisfying work. I live in a small town (700 people) and now I know almost everyone.
