They Won’t Rule Out a Pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell...
This is a new low.
They are not even going to rule out a pardon for Ghislaine Maxwell.
Think about that.
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stood at the podium today and refused to rule it out. She is not even wearing her cross today. I think we know why.
This week has been disastrous for the Trump administration. Multiple officials have been implicated in the Epstein files in ways that undermine their previous statements. But the biggest story right now is the potential pardon of a convicted sex trafficker who holds leverage over the President.
Ghislaine Maxwell testified in front of Congress virtually yesterday and pled the Fifth on every single statement. She decided not to incriminate herself further in an attempt to gain leverage over the Trump administration.
She sees that Trump is giving out pardons like candy. She sees him pardoning the former founder of Binance. She sees him pardoning the former president of Honduras who was a drug trafficker.
So she is asking for clemency. She is signaling that she will not implicate him if he saves her.
We have to look at the history here.
In the early 2000s both Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell invoked their Fifth Amendment rights to silence when asked the same question about their relationship with Donald Trump.
Sixteen years apart they both refused to answer.
Lawyer: “Have you ever socialized with Donald Trump in the presence of females under the age of 18?” Epstein: “I’m going to have to assert my fifth, sixth, and 14th amendment right.”
Lawyer: “Are you aware of Donald Trump ever engaging in sexual activity with an individual introduced to him by you or Jeffrey Epstein?” Maxwell: “I invoke my fifth amendment right to silence.”
Both of them deciding not to incriminate themselves when asked about Donald Trump is telling in and of itself.
According to Representative Jamie Raskin when he searched President Trump’s name in the unredacted files it came up more than a million times.
Then we have Howard Lutnick.
Lutnick is Trump’s Commerce Secretary. He claimed for years that he cut Jeffrey Epstein off in 2005 after getting “creepy vibes” at Epstein’s home.
He told the world he said “I will never be in the room with that disgusting person ever again”.
That was a lie.
We learned today that Howard Lutnick took his family to Epstein’s island in 2012.
This was after Epstein had been convicted of soliciting prostitution of a minor in 2008.
Lutnick was grilled in front of Congress today and it was brutal. He admitted he had lunch on the island with his wife and children.
Lutnick: “I did have lunch with him as I was on a boat going across on a family vacation... That is true.”
He lied about his relationship. He even received a resume for a nanny from Epstein’s staff.
Why has he not resigned? In the UK Keir Starmer’s chief of staff just resigned because he was implicated in the files. But here Howard Lutnick is still serving in the cabinet.
Karoline Leavitt was asked if the White House stands behind Lutnick given his perjury.
Her answer was pathetic.
Leavitt: “Secretary Lutnick remains a very important member of President Trump’s team and the president fully supports the Secretary.”
They are openly supporting people who are in the files.
It almost feels like a prerequisite to be in the Trump administration is to be in the Epstein files. Whether it is Elon Musk or the new Fed chair pick or Howard Lutnick or Trump himself.
They are covering up everything. They covered up the executions of Renee Good and Alex Pretti in Minneapolis. They covered up Trump’s health problems. They covered up economic data. And now they are covering up this.
This administration is an absolute mess. They know they are about to lose and they are getting desperate.
We need to continue to double down on pro-democracy work. We need to hold them accountable.
I am going to leave it there.

How PATHETIC! The coverup of the century.
Shut the country down in that eventuality. If Congress can do it, then the American people can do it.
