I don’t watch CNN because they seem to have a debate panel on many of their shows and the Trump surrogates continually tell lies and are not challenged.
I watched CNN briefly during the ‘16 election. I wondered what the point in “debates” was if there is no pushback? I’ve been listening to republicans lie for decades. Lying is all they do, all the time about everything. Journalists are apparently afraid of losing access to the liars but if they can’t do their jobs they shouldn’t have them.
I trust you will hold them to account and not let them get away with their lies. Rupert Murdoch, and organizations like Fox, OANN, Newsmax, The Daily Wire and The Gateway Pundit have gone a long way toward destroying our country and it’s time for our side to speak up.
Good luck getting the truth out and leveling the playing field.

Letting it all out then going back and heavily editing so I don't sound like a raving mad-woman.

Thankfully we do not have anything similar to your (US) 1st Amendment. What we do have are LAWS NOT ALLOWING someone to be racist, anti-you name it, discriminatory and downright nasty. We also have TV programmes and online media outlets that FACT-CHECK everything that's published in the Aussie media.
So...... if you are telling whopping untruths, you are called out on it and branded a real d!ckhead and/or wanker.
TRUTH TELLING is a big thing here.
Australia never had Laws regarding what people said or wrote in the press.
It wasn't until people were hiding behind their keyboards and posting massive untruths or conspiracy bullsh!t and the media publishing their absolute filth and slander etc did there be the need for these Laws.
There is no excuse for rudeness & untruths and nothing should be posted online that you wouldn't say to that person's face.
That’s so funny, Mrs LL. That’s exactly what I did. Usually I will just edit something like a missing punctuation mark or when I discover that something I dictated came out quite differently from what I thought I actually had said.
But this time I discovered I had repeated myself quite a bit and I think I cut the rant down to half its size and hopefully made it a little more coherent. I’m so overwhelmed by everything that’s going on it’s so hard to think straight anymore!
Our 1st amendment to the Constitution is actually a very good thing. I had to look up what it specifically says, but it grants freedom of speech, religion, press, petition and assembly.
It protects freedom of speech and freedom of the press, etc., ensuring U.S. citizens { – okay, I’m adding a new edit here because I think it applies to everyone here, not just US citizens – } can express opinions without government censorship, though restrictions apply to incitement, obscenity, and certain school or workplace contexts.
Like you can’t yell “fire” in a crowded theater. Unfortunately, we have a profoundly corrupt, criminal, stochastic “president” who incites violence and abuses many of our rights. He lies ALL the time. He lies so much people can’t keep up and he doesn’t get called on it. He told more than 35,000 proven lies his first term. The press is definitely not doing their job, but they don’t wanna lose access. (I say that with a lot of anger.)
He barely follows the law at all. He said we should *terminate* the Constitution – because it restricts him from a lot of criminal things he wants to do.
Last year VP JD Vance considered using the Insurrection Act in Minneapolis to deploy US soldiers against protesters “trampling the Constitution, violating the law and crushing our rights” was the line I just heard on TV.
Basically 1A protects you (in theory at least) from what the government can do to you. Private companies still have the right to not allow certain things, but the government is supposed to be restricted from taking away your rights.
Of course, a lot of that has gone out the door now with Trump preventing habeas corpus (your right to not be unlawfully detained) for undocumented immigrants and even a lot of people lawfully here including actual US citizens.
We have a completely criminal administration. I call it the felonocracy.
This is an excellent format, and you're the perfect person to make it work really well. I'm looking forward to it, and I'm sure that's a pretty universal sentiment. Onward!
At last something in writing! Might I suggest companion postings with the transcripts of the debates? Some of us dont have the time to watch all of your wonderful content. I do appreciate all you do, I just want it accessible to those of us who absorb written content more easily. Thanks for your passion, knowledge, and fighting spirit!
