NATO is Creating the Truman Show for Donald Trump

They are feeding Trump praise like candy because if they do not, he might destroy NATO.

Do not tell the Trump team what I am about to say.

Because if Trump finds out, the whole thing falls apart.

What I am about to explain might sound unbelievable, but it is happening right now.

World leaders are babying Donald Trump.

And they are doing it on purpose.

Not to humor him. Not to praise him. But to contain him.

Trump walks into these meetings completely unprepared. He never studies. He does not plan. He treats global diplomacy like it is an episode of reality TV, where all that matters is the applause.

So the people who actually run the free world have come up with a plan.

Treat him like a toddler.

Give him flattery. Hand him staged wins. Make him feel like the most important person in the room. Then gently guide him away from the cliff.

This week at the NATO summit, it was obvious.

Trump was smiling. He was posting nice things. He called world leaders “incredible.” He said he loved being there.

Why?

Because they are running a global Truman Show around him.

The lead actor in this quiet operation is NATO chief Mark Rutte.

From the moment Trump arrived, Rutte laid it on thick. He sent a sweet message before Trump even touched down. He thanked Trump for “decisive action” in Iran. He called him “dear Donald.” He said Europe was stepping up because of Trump’s courage.

Trump loved it. He could not wait to post it online.

This is not admiration. It is manipulation.

Vladimir Putin has done this for years. He feeds Trump the praise he craves and gets what he wants in return. Now NATO is doing the same thing. But this time, it is for a better cause.

Trump has openly threatened to pull the United States out of NATO. He has flirted with killing Article 5, which holds the alliance together. He has called our allies freeloaders. He would hand Putin what he wants if left unchecked.

So now, instead of confronting Trump, they are coddling him.

They let him believe NATO just gave him everything he asked for. They told him the alliance will now spend five percent of GDP on defense, which is not even realistic. But it sounds good. And it keeps him calm.

They kissed the ring.

Because if they do not, he might burn the whole thing down.

This is not how democracy should work. It is not how presidents should be treated. But Trump is not a normal president.

He is fragile. He is insecure. He is dangerously easy to manipulate.

So they are playing along.

They are staging victories. They are scripting praise. They are crafting a version of reality where Trump feels like the hero.

And for now, it is working.

Trump leaves the summit thinking he is the king of NATO. Not the threat to it.

I hate that it has come to this. But if the choice is between massaging his ego or watching Ukraine fall and NATO collapse, then maybe this is the cost of survival.

World leaders are babysitting the most powerful man on Earth.

Because if they do not, he might take the whole thing down with him.
