You are a rock star and us boomers love you

Alana's avatar

Indeed. I am so proud of Adam and some of the other Gen Z’s I see on Substack and You Tube. Millennials too. They give me a lot of hope for the future!

Cheryl Boedicker's avatar

I second that, Adam! Keep up your courageous work. Don’t let these Boomers bully you! ( I’m 79!!) They’ve gotten away with their BS for so long, they are shocked when someone, especially someone young, challenges them! Just be alert at all times-be careful!

Please stop equating this behavior with boomers. That’s an inaccurate association. They’re the neo-neocons. I’m a younger boomer and I’m tired of people lumping us in with the magat crowd.

You appear to be showing some grace. Thank you. Time to let Scott go.

Melba's avatar

When has Adam ever not shown grace over many interactions with Scott Jennings? Scott Jennings, Geraldo Rivera, Chris Cuomo and all the rest need people standing up to them and calling them out relentlessly.

Betty Pasternak's avatar

I know that & they will stand up again in the future when needed. I am not a fan of Scott. Lots of time & energy spent on this incident. Point made. Adam is wise beyond his years. I am sorry he was treated like that. He reflected. He vented. Now heal & move on. Prepare for the next debate.

Melba's avatar

Respectfully "moving on" is what has gotten us here. One can do 2 things at once and it is critical we all keep calling out while presenting vision simultaneously. We must.

Betty Pasternak's avatar

You clearly don’t understand. Moving on, calling out & standing up can all happen at the same time. But yeah, we have bigger issues to address besides endless discussions on one podcast after another about whose finger was in whose face & never ending celebration of the humiliation of Scott Jennings. Reliving a negative experience over & over only keeps the embarrassment & hurt feelings alive. We all know Scott (and others). There will be many other opportunities to confront MAGA influencers & stand up for democracy.

I understand what you mean, but this is not just coming from the Scott Jennings thing. It happened again last night with some jerk-off that was on the panel. I do understand what you mean though. This is a justifiable point that he is making though.

Betty Pasternak's avatar

True, besides Scott there are other hard core right conservatives & I can’t stand any of them either. I just can’t remember their names. I write CNN all the time about giving them a platform. I guess CNN is trying to present both sides (which for me, means the right & the wrong). They all need to be “stood up to” & they usually are. That is why Abby’s show trends closer to a Jerry Springer than a political debate. I don’t know if it helps the ratings or what. I just hope CNN continues presenting pro- democracy, anti-Trump ideology. I am concerned that the new acquisition will result in censorship & more right wing propaganda.

I believe he's referring to his debate from last night, which wasn't with Scott..

I am a woman who is definitely old enough to be your grandmother and am equally sick and tired of old people stuck in the past. Cheering for you always!

I am 64 male and have always said I don’t know when I don’t. But, Adam is right. Older men can have a facade of knowing it all. If someone doesn’t say they don’t know - ever - they are BS artists.

These people who take offense to your youth are envious. First bc you’re young and they aren’t. And they know at your age they didn’t have half your intelligence, education and street cred. You should feel honored that by being informed. Having a spine. And taking them “to school” you hit a big ass nerve.

And I’m old enough to be THEIR mom. So not all older ppl are assholes.

Mema's avatar

Adam I'm so proud of you. I'll bet your Mom is too. Don't let those adults bullshit you. You're smart, your friends are smart. Some adults think the young should respect them like puppy dogs, but in turn have no return respect. You see, respect goes both ways. Some adults have had money to get them where they are, but aren't really smart. They just talk shit. Kind of like Trump.

So go out there and do your best, respect those who respect you. Keep asking the right question weather they like it or not.

You always impress me with the insight you have, even at your young age. You are an old soul, Adam, for sure!

I'm almost 71 and I'm still working on myself. It's those that aren't willing to do the hard work of questioning, learning and facing reality that cause the problems.

Keep up the good work! We love you!!!

This is very very true because people nowadays are not admitting that they have a weakness everyone has a weakness but admitting weakness and flaws is a sign of strength and awareness

You have a good understanding of the human… comedy. Your growth as a commentator is obvious and this insightful reading of others will carry you through the journey ahead. Looking forward to just how far you’ll go.

heir message is based on lies, so they do fast-talking or down-talking, pretending they're

superior, which they so obviously are not. like saying he knows so much more about tarrifs than you do.

josephreith's avatar

Take it to them. The more pressure they receive the more they breakdown.

Melba's avatar

Well said. When truth doesn’t matter, self honesty and scrutiny matter even more. Keep going.

I'm glad the Boomers are behind you but us oldies but goodies are too. Keep up the good work!😻
