I had the chance to sit down with Secretary Hillary Clinton for a conversation that went far deeper than politics. We talked about how young men are being radicalized by algorithms, the long-term damage of COVID isolation, and the role social media companies play in feeding nihilism. She agreed with my “white male algorithm theory” and pointed out that we are still living with the consequences of how technology and disconnection have reshaped society.

We also dug into foreign aid, which she framed not as charity but as essential to America’s future. From stopping pandemics before they reach our shores to tackling climate change and building economic resilience, she explained why what happens overseas always affects us here at home. It was one of the clearest cases I have heard for why engagement with the world matters.
