With food insecurity already rising in all fifty states, this will push more families into hunger. Children and seniors are especially vulnerable in this scenario.

The economic fallout will not stop there. Cutting access to Medicaid and SNAP will hurt state economies because those programs create jobs and support local businesses. Rural hospitals will close at an even faster rate and small businesses in hard-hit communities will see fewer customers as people struggle just to afford groceries and medical care.

The Congressional Budget Office has already projected that the bill’s changes will lead to significant job losses across multiple industries. As families are pushed out of vital programs, consumer spending will drop, which will ripple through local economies and slow down growth in the very places politicians claim they are trying to help.

This bill also gives even more power to wealthy elites like Elon Musk. At a time when working people are being told to tighten their belts, the richest Americans will enjoy record tax cuts and expanded loopholes that allow them to hoard even more of the nation’s wealth.
