I want you to really sit with this for a second. Donald Trump is about to slap a 104% tariff on nearly everything we import from China.
Let me say that again: one hundred and four percent. That’s not a typo.
And do you know what that actually means for you and me?
It means higher prices on clothing, electronics, furniture, phones, computers, even medical supplies.
Taking just a singular example, some estimates pin the cost of an entirely made in America iPhone at around $30,000. No thanks!
These tariffs mean your kids’ back-to-school shopping just got brutal, your holiday gifts are now luxury items, and your grocery bill is creeping up again.
But it’s more than just sticker shock.
This is a tax on the American people, plain and simple. And it hits working families the hardest. Not Elon Musk. Not Trump’s Mar-a-Lago buddies. You. Us.
You know who else is taking a hit?
U.S. businesses. Retailers. Tech companies. Truckers. Dock workers. Warehouse employees. Entire supply chains thrown into chaos overnight. Jobs put on pause. Hours cut. Production delayed.
Why?
Because Trump can’t stop playing games with the global economy like it’s a slot machine at one of his bankrupt casino or dozens of failed businesses.
And just like last time — when he launched the first wave of these tariffs back in 2018 — it’s you who ends up paying the price.
Not China. You.
And don’t let corporate media spin this for you.
They’re too busy pretending this is a “trade negotiation” or “strategic pressure.” No — this is economic sabotage. And it’s being done on purpose, as part of his broader campaign of revenge and retribution.
We’re watching a political movement that would rather burn down the economy than give up power. And they’re not even hiding it anymore.
But here’s the thing. We see through it.
You see through it.
You’ve already lived through Trump’s so-called “deals” — where Wall Street wins and Main Street pays the price.
So what do we do?
We organize. We speak out. We hold the line.
Because this isn’t just about prices at the store — it’s about the kind of country we want to be.
Do we want to be a country run by grifters and strongmen who torch the economy to settle personal vendettas?
Or do we want to build a future that actually works for all of us?
And we’re not buying it.
Hands off our wallets.
Hands off our jobs.
Hands off our democracy.
Besides the Wall Street predators, add the Saudi sovereign wealth fund (recent Doral golf tournament and site of Ukraine negotiations without Zelensky), private equity and hedge funds which are mostly global in nature all lining up at the pool of Trump carnage to buy up our common goods and treasure for pennies to the dollar. (Also know your dad!! Well, done, Adam) We need young voices. You rock!!
I am so sorry for the loss we have created for our children, and especially our grandchildren. People take life for granted assuming things won’t change; only for the good as it pertains to them. I thought we learned well from the 2008-2009 Great Recession caused by repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act in 1999 by President Clinton and Congress, and into the Bush administration and loss of the surplus Clinton had created by taxing the rich! We learned to be more watchful, especially if our budget, the governments budget’s and policy, and be aware of basic economy rules. We said never again - and here we are. When I hear a debate with a MAGA voter my stomach turns as they can’t describe a policy, explain one, and worse, repeating the lies of what a tariff is. How did we get here? But now with the Supreme Court being so blatantly partisan and not caring for the lives of people these policies destroyed, where do we go from here?
