I can’t believe this is real, but we need to talk about what’s happening with this food safety crisis because it is getting completely out of hand.

We don’t do conspiracies here. We stick strictly to the facts. And the facts surrounding this massive Cyclospora parasite outbreak across the country are unbelievable.

If you haven’t heard yet, over 7,000 people across 30 states have reported getting sick from this parasite bug. Michigan has been hit the hardest with more than 4,300 cases alone. It causes weeks of severe, painful illness, and federal investigators traced the contaminated produce back to shredded iceberg lettuce supplied by Taylor Farms, which ends up at fast food chains like Taco Bell.

As soon as you look into who owns Taylor Farms and where their money goes, the whole story gets very dirty.

Here is what the public records show:

• In March 2025, Taylor Farms wrote a $1 million check to the pro-Trump super PAC MAGA Inc.

• Just days later, the FDA delayed a critical food safety rule that would have forced strict tracking requirements on high-risk produce like packaged lettuce.

• When the outbreak hit, Taylor Farms hired a former Trump White House official and met directly with White House and FDA officials to push back on federal findings.

Right after that meeting, the FDA suddenly backed off a positive test they found on Taylor Farms lettuce, calling it a “false positive,” even while admitting their supply chain tracking still points right back to the company.

Be careful if you are eating out right now. Look up the lists of affected produce and stay safe. I care about you guys and just want everyone to stay healthy.

Meanwhile, why was it so hard to track this parasite in the first place? Because RFK Jr. and this administration actively gutted our public health protections. They terminated the CDC’s active tracking program required specifically for Cyclospora. On top of that, they cut the CDC’s parasitic disease surveillance team from 11 specialists down to just 3, while slashing overall CDC staff by 25%.

Senator Jon Ossoff recently sent a letter demanding answers from RFK Jr., calling out how these foolish cuts put regular families in danger.

This is the exact scenario Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has been warning us about on Capitol Hill for years.

AOC has repeatedly made the point that when politicians roll back regulations under the guise of “cutting red tape,” they aren’t helping regular people. They are doing favors for their mega-donors. When you strip away public health oversight, working families pay the price at the grocery store while billionaire CEOs walk away untouched.

Taylor Farms has a massive track record of this. They were tied to a Cyclospora outbreak back in 2013, E. coli outbreaks in 2024, a $1.1 million OSHA fine after a worker died on the job, and federal labor violations for using 14-year-olds to clean dangerous machinery overnight.

Their CEO, Bruce Taylor, is a billionaire Republican donor who has poured millions into MAGA political groups. So his company just keeps dodging real accountability.

While regular Americans are getting sick and struggling to know if their food is safe, the political establishment is busy protecting corporate donors and dragging us into illegal conflicts abroad.

We need real oversight, strong regulations, and leaders like AOC who aren’t afraid to call out corporate greed when they see it.
